*I was just telling my brother how fortunate some people are to find their purpose in life. Even rarer is if they find it at the ripe young age of eight.
Inspiration is a tricky thing. You never know where its going to come from, or how its going to play out.
You probably wouldn’t expect a child to be moved so deeply by a group of homeless people, that he takes it upon himself to do something about it. I mean really, adults pass by these unfortunate souls daily and many times, offer nothing more than a “Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
Enter?Jahkil Naeem Jackson, no ordinary young man.
After an aunt took him with her to feed the homeless one day, his life changed. “I was sad because they didn’t have the items that other people have to just start the day or end the day,” Jackson says in a video on his website.
In a perfect world I would buy every homeless person houses. But since I can’t do that, I’ll try to help them as much as I can.” –Jahkil Naeem Jackson
*The Reverend Jesse Jackson has been at the forefront of the civil rights movement for over 50 years.
Well, kinda. ?He stood next to MLK as he was gunned down in 1968, having been one of his closest advisers and mentees. ?Twenty years later, Jackson vied for the Democratic presidential nomination, helping to lay the groundwork for President Obama’s successful bid twenty years after THAT.
*We covered this story the other day but dang, I hadn’t seen the video. It’s one thing to hear of a frightened animal, but seeing it is another. ?You may recall the story about the upcoming film, ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ being under fire after a video was leaked showing a frightened German shepherd dog being coerced into rushing water.
Poor baby did not want to go!
We always think of this breed of dog as tough. I mean, heck, they’re police dogs right? But clearly, this German shepherd was scared. And now we’ve got our hot little hands on the video that shows it.
But I wasn’t the only one who hadn’t seen the footage. Apparently, the film’s producer hadn’t either; and when he did, he said he was “appalled!”
Gavin Polone penned an article in Hollywood Reporter saying how as producer, ” much of my identity is fused with the belief that I am a lover and defender of animals and their welfare.”
Love of animals defines my existence, and that love is what drove me to struggle for years to get Bruce Cameron’s brilliant and widely cherished novel about the bond between a person and a dog made into a movie. In part, my feelings about animals were formed as a child by films like Sounder and Born Free and TV shows like Lassie. I wanted to promote the feelings I developed for animals by making a meaningful movie about the same. So now, the idea that I’m connected to an accusation of the abuse of a dog is, to understate it, painful. Continue reading →
*I pray you were not one of the unfortunate victims of a phone that caught fire…while you were on it!?By now you’ve probably heard that Samsung had to pull their Galaxy Note 7 from the market only months after it’s August 2 launch. People all over the globe were bombarding the brand with complaints about their phone blowing up and catching fire; many of them landed in hospitals. Even airports laid out huge blinking signs advising folks not to expect to bring the phones on board, and confiscated them from those who did.
Samsung was devastated. They had already counted all the money and now was set to invest in lawsuits. Quietly they bowed out by taking the phone off the shelf — rushing it into research to learn what the hell had happened.
*If anyone ever wondered what the face of hate looks like, Markeith Loyd might give you a clue. Enraged by the way he is being portrayed after allegedly killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, her unborn child, and now, the female officer who approached him in a Walmart parking lot nearly a month later, he took aim at the bond judge. His mouth being the weapon.
Let’s catch you up, shall we?
On December 13, 2016, Loyd was heard arguing with 24-year-old Sade Dixon outside of her parents home in the 6000 block Long Peak Drive near Clarcona Ocoee and Pine Hills Road in Orange County, Florida. Witnesses rushed outside to see Loyd running towards his car, firing a gun towards the house.
Dixon’s younger brother was injured too, but not fatally. He remains hospitalized in critical condition as of this writing. Continue reading →
*Yes, you can rest assured her grinnin’ 18-year-old ass has been apprehended and with any justice, she will spend five years in jail.?Thanks to social media viewers who contacted the Dept. of Children’s Services about the Live stream, followed up by ABC6 who passed the video along to the authorities, Shayla Rudolph’s 2-year-old child is in safe hands today. Rudolph is seen being arrested (scroll down) after she was called out for streaming a video that appeared to show a screaming child taped to a wall. Although she was mum to reporter’s questions as she is being led to the backseat of a squad car, she had plenty to say as she narrated the disturbing video.
In the first segment of the 5 :10 video Rudolph smooches the imprisoned toddler and tells him, “You got the best mommy in the whole wide world. Don’t make me put more tape up there. Now sit still. You can see the TV from right there. You be a’iiight.”
She then goes on to address Facebook Live viewers saying, “You can’t clean with them running around. You can’t cook without them running around tearing up. Tape ’em to the wall. You can’t cook or none of that because they running around. Tape ’em to the wall.”
But hold on, as if that wasn’t enough, this heffa recorded another video…supposedly two days later. Mad after she was turned into Children’s Services.Continue reading →
