Dragon Fruit Gets Canceled, but it Wasn’t Political. Yeah, Right.

*NEW DELHI — Dragon fruit is not particularly popular in India. However, this exotic and expensive fruit that is usually found on the buffet tables of five-star hotels and fancy wedding receptions, has suddenly taken center stage.

Vijay Rupani, chief minister of the western state of Gujarat, has decided to change the name of the fruit to the Sanskrit word “Kamalam,” meaning lotus.

On Inauguration Day, Joy Erupted In A Deserted ‘Black Lives Matter’ Plaza – Video&Photos

WASHINGTON — Two hours after President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s inauguration, a couple hugged and kissed beneath sunlit campaign flags blowing in the January wind a few blocks from the White House. A militarized security buildup kept them a two-mile walk from the U.S. Capitol, where Lady Gaga sang and Biden swore his oath.

It’s A New Day; A New Dawn: Biden and Harris Now in Charge

*An Inauguration Day unlike any other, Wednesday’s transfer of presidential power made history on a number of levels.

The ongoing and still growing coronavirus pandemic precipitated President Biden’s request that Americans not attend the quadrennial event. The attack on the U.S. Capitol also dictated the size of those invited to attend. Without exaggeration, there were more security forces on guard than there were guests on hand.
