*The insightful thinking of a 4-tear-old girl is the reason she is alive today. After hearing a gunshot she ran into the living room of the home she shared with her mom and half- brother, to find her mother lying on the floor, and her dad holding a gun.
The dad ordered her to go back to her room. She did, and faked sleep when he went to check on her.
?She heard several shots fired after that,? said Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Chief Jeremy Ihler.
Then he went back and shot the 15-year-old son who entered the room, and finally, himself.
Police in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb, had been called via 911 by a man they believe was the shooter. The man said police would find three bodies, and then he hung up, according to reports by local TV station KSDK, St. Louis Patch and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Katrina Banks, the 31-year-old victim, had posted photos on Facebook Jan. 20 announcing her engagement to 31-year-old Dornubari Dugbor, the man identified by police as the shooter.
The two are said to have known each other as children, then reconnected as adults through church following the birth of Banks’ son, family friend Katrice Noble told KSDK.
Banks’ son, Kevin Johnson — another victim, was 15-years-old.

Police say the 911 caller did not identify himself, but the call was traced to Dugbor?s cellphone, which was found in his hand with his body slumped on a couch and a 9mm semiautomatic pistol in his lap.
Police responding to the 911 call were able to enter the home through an unlocked front door, and after encountering the bodies they found the 4-year-old in a back bedroom pretending to be asleep.
Banks and Dugbor were her parents, Ihler said, but he was unable to address custody or say how much time the father, who had an address elsewhere, spent at the home.
Noble had nothing but glowing things to say about her friend.
No motive is known by authorities for the murder-suicide. But according to them, the young girl will be turned over to relatives.
?It is going to be very imperative for this community to come together to assist this young baby,? Noble said.
