*My god. Parents and school officials at Los Angeles’ Carthay Center Elementary School are mortified after a man who worked as a PE Teacher stripped naked in front of their children and proceeded to chase them around the playground on Friday.
The children, elementary aged, ran every which way, to find safe shelter and law enforcement was called.
Parents learned of the incident via robocall, followed by a letter that sent home. The consensus seems to be that the children, nearby second and fifth graders, saw the man’s private parts, and are now traumatized. LAUSD has brought on mental health counselors to help them.
And now the answer to the “Pink Elephant” in the room question.
Yes. He was a Black man.
The entire scene was captured by a construction worker who was working nearby.
?He was supposed to be helping them learn P.E., run around and have fun,? one parent, with emotion in his voice, told CBS2?s Adrianna Weingold.
?But he undressed and started chasing the kids while he was naked, and then the kids ducked and dodged, ran into some of the classrooms and got safe haven that way.?
As seen in the video, the man eventually stood in the middle of the playground and put his pants back on, as people thought to be school personnel stood by.
Still, he appears to be unfazed by his actions.
The letter sent home to parents read, ?An individual began behaving in an unusual way, prompting us to contact law enforcement,? the letter reads in part. ?As a safety precaution, our school went on a brief lock-down while officers responded and took the individual into custody.?
It’s frightening to learn that this man is a contracted teacher working for the district?s Star Education After School Enrichment Program.
An investigation by school police, who plan to bring charges against the unnamed man, continues.
