*This new Year was not a happy one for one family. After a night of partying hard and snorting cocaine a young wife became the first homicide victim of 2018 after her husband stabbed her to death and then killed himself.

Prior to hanging himself, Vinny Loknath, 46, called his mother and asked her not to bury him, but to burn his body, which was found hanging from a tree in Forest Park at about 11 a.m. Monday, sources said.

Loknath’s mother had no idea her son had killed Stacy Singh, his 26-year-old wife, leaving a 5-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter they had together behind.

The New York Daily News reports Singh was found face down at the couple?s Richmond Hill home on 103rd Ave. near 113th St., after being stabbed repeatedly in the back , according to the sources.

A knife was found near her abandoned corpse when police arrived around 2 p.m.

Loknath ? who had been found swinging from a tree three hours earlier about 1 1/2 miles from the murder scene. He was immediately linked to the killing.

Witnesses at the club where the two brought in the New Year say they were arguing most of the evening. According to family members, at one point the fighting became so loud the couple was asked to leave the club.

Loknath and Singh appear to have had a tumultuous relationship.

A judge had granted an order of protection barring Loknath from being near Singh until October 2019, but the couple apparently reconciled, police sources said.

?(He) was very abusive to her,? Romain Shaw, Singh?s brother-in-law, told the Daily News on Monday. ?She stayed with him no matter what because they had two kids together. She was hoping for him to change, but he never did.?
