*Oh! Was that a kick? Hold on baby, mama’s gotta finish this paper. As the recent grandma of a beautiful baby girl, this woman could easily be my daughter. Her actions, at least. While in the hospital waiting to give birth, a teacher decided what the heck, I’ll work on the lesson plans.
I mean, who does that?
Had I not gone through 17 hours of pure hell when I was in the delivery room, I probably would’ve. But the baby I gave birth to several decades ago, who may have matched my hours in labor recently, if not my pain, was more than likely on her smartphone checking orders in the meantime.
Just saying. Oh the things we women do. Talk about multitasking!
A-N-Y-W-A-Y…Back to the teacher.
This angel of a teacher named Jennifer Paige did actually give birth to a healthy little girl and her photographer, Andrea McDonald of Rooted in Love Photography was there to document it all!
McDonald was obviously sharing the experience online when one person asked if the mother-to-be was doing her taxes.
“No, she is not doing her taxes,” McDonald answered in a recent Facebook post. “Those papers would be her lesson plans her husband is about to go drop off with her sub in the parking lot.”
Little did these ladies know that 21,000 Facebook likes later McDonald would be courted by Huffington Post — who she told how much she loves all the attention she’s getting!
“Being a working mom is hard ? like really hard,” said Pope, who’s also a mom to 9-year-old Boston, 7-year-old Ella Reese, and 18-month-old Lennon. “But, it’s also so rewarding and fulfilling. I can’t imagine myself in any other profession.”
She went on to add…
“To many ? perhaps all ? of us, this is so much more than a job,” she continued. “It’s an all encompassing passion. It’s who we are, fueled by a love for children. Seeing and celebrating the successes of our students is comparable to watching our own children succeed. It really is a remarkable thing.”
McDonald has been a teacher for six years and her photo could not have been more timely.After all, this is National Teacher’s Week, and as the obviously thoughtful person she is, McDonald has asked all of her new followers to do this special kindness for those in the field.
