Disney fans, pack your bags. There is now a Disney Home store located in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney district. This magical retail location has brought some of the most popular home items found throughout Disney parks around the world to one convenient location in Anaheim, California.
The new store offers Disney-lovers a variety of home-related goods, including glassware, linens, kitchen goods, and more. Additionally, customers can expect the selection of home goods to change the look and feel as the seasons change.
Customers can choose from items like Beauty and the Beast place settings, Peter Pan throw pillows, and, of course, a plethora of Mickey and Minnie goodies.
According to a recent Disney Parks Blog post by Public Relations Manager Michael Ramirez, the opening of the Disney Home store is “part of the continuous, promenade-wide transformation happening at the Downtown Disney District in 2018.”
So not only do the 80% of Americans who aren’t happy with their current home decor, according to a HomeGoods survey, have someplace to shop for new and improved home goods, but the Downtown Disney District itself is getting a makeover.
“The result will be a fresh, one-of-a-kind Disney experience, immersing guests by day and night in the greatest mix of family-friendly dining, shopping, and entertainment,” Ramirez said.
While many Disney fans are rejoicing over the idea of having one store to find all of their Disney home goods from, regular park goers aren’t all too thrilled. These regular park-goers have noticed that the majority of the items found at Disney Home can also be found in park gift shops. This is leaving people wondering what exclusives this new store is going to offer customers.
“Disney desperately needs to have some exclusives in some locations,” wrote a commenter on Disney Parks Blog. “Having literally every item available in at least ten stores, and also online, makes almost nothing special in the Parks stores anymore. Most of the best items are either on Shop Disney, or at places like Box Lunch.”
So while some fans are thrilled at the idea of having one convenient place to get their fix of Disney home foods, others find it more exciting to stumble upon pieces throughout the parks. But whether these items are bought at the new store or throughout the parks, American homes are sure to see a Disney takeover this year.
