Bronx Teen Was ‘Pushed Over the Edge’ By Homophobic Bullies Before Fatal Stabbing (Watch)

Abel Cedeno, 18, looks at swarm of reporters from the back seat of a patrol car.

*Abel Cedeno, 18, apparently felt he had no other way out. That’s what a classmate pretty much told the authorities, who arrested the Bronx teen after he fatally stabbed one boy in class and injured another who tried to intervene.

He was arrested on multiple charges that include murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

As the Bronx teen was led out of the 48th precinct building by police and into a patrol car (scroll down for video), one reporter in the crowd asked “Abel, were those boys picking on you?”

The teen, who was arraigned on Thursday, had a one-word answer, “Yes.”

Students say Cedeno had been called all kinds of homophobic names by bullies since the beginning of the school year.

According to a NewsOne article, the attack happened on Wednesday during a history class at the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation. Authorities say that Cedeno used a switchblade in his assault on his alleged bullies: 15-year-old Matthew McCree, who died, and 16-year-old Ariane Laboy

The two boys, both African American, appear to be the latest to tease the teen as reports claim they were not among those blamed earlier.

NewsOne reports…

“The kids were calling him a f—-t, calling him a s–c. After it had been reported numerous times and there was no reaction from the school, Abel felt (there was) no other way out,” Savannah Hornbeck, a 34-year-old family friend, told the newspaper, adding that Cedeno would often come home in tears.

CBS reported that Investigators said Cedeno had been bullied by other students in the past, but Wednesday was the first bullying incident involving McCree and Laboy.

He was pushed over the edge when the two bullies, who were sitting behind Cedeno in class, began taunting and throw pencils at him.

Sources tell CBS2 that Cedeno left and went to the bathroom and came back and the pencils continued flying. Words were exchanged and a fight ensued between the suspect and McCree with Cedeno allegedly stabbing McCree with a knife.

Cedeno was said to be on suicide watch after today’s arraignment.
