Perspective: I Talked with a Dallas Police Officer and a Young Brotha Who Wants to be a Cop…This is What They Said

*I drive for Uber. It gives me a great opportunity to meet a diverse group of people and because I have no problem at all conversing with ANYONE, I get to have incredible conversations with them. Last night two awesome people got into my car: a female police officer and a young man, 18, who aims to become a cop. Of course, I didn’t know the woman’s occupation at first, it’s not like she was in uniform. But these are the kinds of things you learn about people after you begin talking. As it turns out, she was in Dallas when all sh*t broke loose.

The first thought that came to my mind when I learned what she does was, “Whew! I am SO glad I didn’t say anything negative about the police!”

And did I mention she is white?

She told me she doesn’t work for the DPD, but for a private agency. We talked back and forth. I told her what I do and we both shared why we chose the careers we chose and how each of us really came into our chosen paths to make a difference.

She was the nicest person. And it really reiterated in my mind the importance of never forgetting that there are actual individuals behind these groups of people and that to judge the entire group, based on the actions of one person, is just plain wrong.

I made sure to say this to her in reference to the Dallas incident, where the actions of ONE LONE GUNMAN named Micah Johnson should NOT be aligned with the ideology behind the entire Black Lives Matter movement.

I noticed she was hesitant to agree. Continue reading

Watch: Former Cop, Daniel Holtzclaw, Bawls Uncontrollably as Jurors present Surprise Birthday Present

Daniel Holtzclaw's not hurt so good look
We can probably assume this is NOT Daniel Holtzclaw’s hurt-so-good look!

*Make no mistake, those are not the tears from a hurt-so-good experience, many of which former rookie cop Daniel Holtzclaw has no doubt experienced while raping and forcing more than a dozen Black women to perform sexual acts on him.

No, these tears are those of a wimp who was caught and does not want to pay for the crime.

Holtzclaw wept uncontrollably in court as jurors convicted him last month on four first-degree rape counts and 14 other charges, and followed that with a recommendation that he spend 263 years in prison for the crime. And to think he thought so little of these women, he assumed no one would believe them.

The judge agreed with the jurors on Thursday. Continue reading

Death is Not Enough: New Bullet Designed to Make You Suffer First!

Bullet, RIP
Upon impact, this bullet, designed to inflict suffering, disperses nine needles throughout the target’s body.

*Well, there’s a new bullet in town and make no mistake, it means business.

G2 Research has just released the R.I.P. round.

I’m taking a wild guess here, but something tells me that a bullet designed to inflict intense suffering can’t be named Rest In Peace…more like, Go to hell. Continue reading

Tawana Brawley Made to Pay Up for Slander Now Owes $431,000

Tawana Brawley, now 41, resides in Richmond, Va., and is a nurse.
Tawana Brawley, ordered to pay one of the men she described as one of her attackers during a four-day rape and torture in New York in 1987.  Now 41, Brawley resides in Richmond, Va., and is a nurse.

In 1987, Tawana Brawley of Wappingers Falls, New York, told police that she was raped and tortured by several white men, some of them officers as she noticed a holster and badge during the assault. They wrote “n****r” and “bitch” on her torso with feces, and she was found in a trash bag in burned clothes.  In 1988, a jury concluded that her claims were all a part of an elaborate hoax, and in 1998, she was ordered to pay $190,000 for slander.

Now, in 2013, Tawana Brawley’s judgement of $190,000 to pay one of the men who was named as an attacker, former county prosecutor Steven Pagones, has ballooned with nine percent interest, to a whopping $431,492.  According to the New York Post, she has avoided paying the sum until now. Ceola Walker, 77, shows the many bullet holes in her car and home after police fired at her son, Roy Middleton, 60, as he searched for a cigarette in her car, Saturday, July 27, 2013.

The entire state of Florida has to send their officers to the anti-racial profiling and sensitivity training because their offenses seem to be endless.

Roy Middleton, 60, went in his driveway Saturday, to look for a cigarette in his mother’s car when police showed up on the scene and demanded he get of the car with his hands up.  According to witnesses, Middleton did not show any aggressive behavior toward them and complied with their demands before they riddled the scene with bullets.  Luckily, they were also unskilled in shooting because only one of the many bullets hit Middleton in the leg. Univ of Florida Football Star Arrested for Barking at Police Dog?

football player arrest bark at dog

The craziest offenses are getting the young and not-so-innocent arrested lately.

University of Florida’s star linebacker, Antonio Morrison, 19, was arrested on Sunday morning for approaching the window of a police squad car in front of a night club and barking at the K-9 inside.  Police were at the night club responding to a non-related incident when Morrison thought he’d bark at the dog because he barked at him, according to the Daily Mail.  If this is sounding really dumb, wait, it gets worse. Broward County police department put together a video entitled “Raise Your Voice, Not Your Hands”, in an effort to devise a “riot plan” to prevent excessive violence once the verdict is delivered on the George Zimmerman trial.

As the George Zimmerman trial comes to a close, the authorities are already suspecting there will be trouble …and lots of it.

The expert predictions given thus far believe second degree murder will be hard to prove with the evidence and testimony that has been given by forensic specialists.  And as we all know, this high profile case has the country on edge and most awaiting the verdict.  But the fear is that with such a pressure cooker percolating there may be riots that exceed those sparked by the Rodney King case where all officers connected with the beating of the century were acquitted.
