*Two years after killing a Trinidadian teen for flirting with his wife, Lawrence Jones has been sentenced to prison, according to the New York Daily News.
Michael Gary, Acting Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge, brought down a sentence of 20 years to life in prison on Friday for the killing of 18-year-old Isaiah Roberts, who flirted with Jones’ wife on a bus.
“Jones killed this young man for no other reason than he believed he [was] disrespected. A simple flirtation on a bus, that happened long before this incident, Judge Gary said as he pronounced the sentence. Continue reading →
*Reports say that employees at the 5-Boro Burger fast food restaurant in New York City thought it strange that a woman had been in the restroom for such a long time. But they were shocked at what they found upon entering. Thirty-five-year-old Latisha Fisher, mother to one-year-old Gavriel Ortiz-Fisher, was holding her hand over the child’s mouth, smothering him to death.
It was around 2:25 p.m. on Monday, according to police. And employees at the restaurant had become suspicious as lines to the bathroom grew longer and the woman kept refusing to come out.
Alyssa Barrett, 17, has been charged with the murder of her mother DeCarol Deloney-Cain, and robbery, according to the station. Damarius Rashard Wren, Barrett’s 18-year-old boyfriend, was charged earlier this month.
A report from the Chicago Post-Tribune says that police found the decomposed body of Deloney-Cain, a 54-year-old veteran flight attendant for United Airlines, in the trunk of her car in Gary, Ind., on July 7. According to the Associated Press, 24-year-old Raymone Jackson of Inkster, Mich. has been charged with first-degree murder for fatally shooting 2-year-old Kamiya Gross on Tuesday evening. Reports say, Lt.
