In Germantown, Maryland, two women who believed their children were possessed, have been charged with their murder. Zakieya Latrice Avery, 28 and Monifa Denise Sanford, 21 believed they were doing an exorcism on the children, 1-year-old boy, Durell and his 2-year-old sister, Zyana. Both children belonged to Avery. Kimberly McCarthy, 52, was executed by a lethal injection of pentobarbital, Wednesday, June 26, and pronounced dead at 6:37 pm. She was on death row for the brutal 1997 murder and robbery of her 71-year-old neighbor, retired professor Dorothy Booth. We reported in January that she had received a reprieve from death at that time because, according to her attorney, a predominantly white jury was “improperly selected on the basis of race.” Out of 12 jury members, 11 of them were white. Crimes are normally reported to 911, so that help can be sent to the crime scene as soon as possible. But the culprit committing the crime usually is ready to go to jail and is remorseful if they feel compelled to make the call…but not this time.
A couple young men, Scott Simon, 24, and Nicholas Walker, 33, got into a fight in a Broward County, Florida Waffle House. After the two were separated and left the scene, Simon followed Walker home and he was shot to death on I-95, according to the Miami Herald. Well, the police have an open and shut case on Simon’s murder plot because of a butt dial he made to 911 where his conversation with friends detailing how he was going to follow Walker home and kill him. Do you remember a case in 1997, where a well known doctor was murdered by her husband behind her practice in Akron, Ohio? Well, the nearly 20-year-old high profile case is being brought back into the courtroom.
Dr. Margo Prade was a well-respected physician in Akron, Ohio, at the time of her murder which was proven to be committed by her ex-husband, former Akron police chief Douglas Prade. The crime was caught on a nearby car dealership’s surveillance camera, but the tape did not provide anything more than a grainy image of her assailant.
