*Well I’m sure this gave MSNBC news anchor Melissa Harris-Perry something to smile about following her tearful apology to the Romney family recently.
Her employer, MSNBC, was a surefire winner in the weekday prime daypart (8 pm-11 pm, Monday through Friday). Continue reading
*Megyn Kelly opened a major can of worms recently when she stated with a straight face, “For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white,” …later noting the same of Jesus’ pigmentation. “Jesus was a white man, too. It’s like…he’s a historical figure that’s a verifiable fact, as is Santa, I just want kids to know that.”
Now, in short order, some of her colleagues are serving up their own dishes on the matter. In a response to Kelly on his late-night show, Jon Stewart asks, “who are you actually talking to? Children who are sophisticated enough to be watching a news channel at 10 o’clock at night, yet innocent enough to still believe Santa Claus is real — yet racist enough to be freaked out if he isn’t white?”
MSNBC anchor, Melissa Harris-Perry, found a brilliant way to address the skewed perspective of the Fox News Channel host. Using her show to pen an open letter to Santa, Harris-Perry brought her own point-blank questions to the fore; bringing inquiries to Santa not from a naughty or nice ilk, but as more of an appeal. Melissa Harris-Perry sets the record straight on the Harlem Shake meme.
The Harlem Shake video meme has really taken on a life of its own. But, just like us, one journalist takes issue with the videos not really displaying the Harlem Shake and she finds it downright disrespectful…along with some residents of Harlem.
Melissa Harris-Perry is known for taking down political powerhouses from the right wing and defending the black community from disenfranchisement and other forms of injustice. So, it is no wonder that the Harlem Shake meme has got under her skin. She even took her mic to the streets of Harlem to see how residents felt about them and they were not happy. Continue reading
Melissa Harris-Perry charges Tavis Smiley with undermining the black community.
The Tuskegee Experiment included 600 black men (399 with Syphilis and 201 without) that were led down a road of deception by not only the federal government, but one of their own that they thought they could trust.
Nurse Rivers, who knew the experiment was all a lie and that they were not really being treated for their cases of Syphilis, never breathed a word. In exchange for taking part in the experiment, they were promised free medical exams, meals, and burial insurance.
According to All Voices.com, on Melissa Harris-Perry’s show Sunday, she pointed out the similarities in Tavis Smiley to Nurse Rivers. Apparently, Tavis had been in business with Wells Fargo to get African Americans and Hispanics enrolled in their fraudulent “wealth building” program that duped them into loans with higher rates based on “the color of their skin.” Continue reading
Melissa Harris Perry talks black hair.
Everyone knows the ritual between Thursday and Saturday. It’s hair time in the black community! Now any day can be a hair day, but a lot of ladies are getting ready for the festive weekend and need their do to be as done as it can look when they get there.
The natural look has been a scary thought for a lot of black women. The slightest indicator that their curls or bushy strands of hair are sprouting through the scalp’s follicle Continue reading

The intellectual television market has been cornered on MSNBC. They have an impressive roster on their evening line-up that include veteran journalists with not so shabby educational backgrounds. One example is Rachel Maddow, who is a Rhodes Scholar. She is so smart that she had the good common sense to bring on a young scholar who is rocketing to intellectual superstardom.
If you haven’t heard of her, Melissa Harris-Perry is the newest anchor on MSNBC. She now has her very own show on the network and with it a lot of firsts. Perry is the only Continue reading
