Sheriff’s Call: Grim Outlook for Toddler Dragged By Gator in Orlando (Audio)

allii2

*I’m starting to think Orlando has been cursed. I generally don’t believe in such things, but how do you wrap your brain around three horrific events occurring  there over a period of days?  First the killing of singer Christina Grimme; then the nightclub massacre, and now an alligator comes out of the water and grabs a 2-year-old boy?

What the hell is happening here? It’s like a city suffering from some kind of karmic retribution.

Authorities are now, after a 15-hour search, not looking to recover the little boy alive; but continue to search for his remains as they conclude the child is dead, because such an ordeal is “not survivable.” There are conflicting stories as to whether the child was near the water in a playpen; or was wading along the edge of the water with his family prior to the attack. But as soon as it happened the boy’s father jumped into the water in an attempt to save the child, but he was unable to grab him from the gator.

The child’s mother is also said to have entered the water.

Stripper Spends $120,000 to Look Like Disney Princess…and Fails

The-surgeries

*This chick goes straight into my “Bat Shit Crazy” file.

25-year-old Pixee Fox (and if THAT’s not a stripper name, I don’t know what is), has undergone 15 total surgeries, in her quest to look like Jessica Rabbit or a Disney princess — and she’s not done, yet.

“I’ve always been inspired by cartoons and Disney movies — all the curves and tiny waists,” Fox said.

What Fox seems to have missed is the fact that the “curves and tiny waists” she covets are drawings on a page — NOT REAL PEOPLE.

She HAS managed to achieve a 14 inch waist.  Yes, she had ribs removed — six of them, in fact.  She’s had surgeries on her eyelids, her brow, her butt, her cheeks, her lips, and she’s endured a fat-melting procedure to help her further trim what was left of her original body.

The picture up top shows you what Fox looks like now:  the bastard child of Dolly Parton and Michael Jackson.

Just in case you’re curious, here’s how she looked before the surgeries: Continue reading

You Could Break The Bank Going To “The Happiest Place On Earth”!

Disneyland In Anaheim, California
Disneyland In Anaheim, California

*It sounds like a classic Scrooge McDuck money grab to me!

I won’t front: I’ve gone into credit card debt in the past to finance vacations at Walt Disney World during my kids’ spring breaks. It sometimes took me months to pay those balances back down. I wouldn’t replace those memories with my girls for anything, but those post-Disney emails I used to get each spring about my “credit card statement being ready to view” drove my blood pressure up a few points.

I’d better jump on that aspirin regimen, as earlier this week Disney has eliminated many of its annual pass options at both Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, replacing them with new passes that are in most cases more expensive, according to the Huffington Post. In one case, a lot more expensive: an annual pass to Disney’s California parks has jumped over $300, to over $1,000! Continue reading

San Francisco’s Castro Theatre Offers Sing-A-Long Fun For Families

Castro_Theatre_Marquee_December_2013_(3)

*I may be the only person alive who never understood the whole Rocky Horror Picture Show thing.

You’ve seen or read about these events. For decades now, rabid fans of the movie have been packing theaters around the world, dressed as their favorite characters from the movie, to enjoy a viewing experience that I’m told is quite interactive. To be frank, I never quite got why anyone would waste their time and money.  I was never even much of a Halloween person, so dressing up as a character to watch a movie seemed crazy.

As it turns out, Rocky Horror was just the wrong movie for me. I recently discovered San Francisco’s Castro Theatre’s sing-a-long lineup, and I took my eldest daughter, Janet, to see Disney’s The Little Mermaid. We had an absolute blast.  The theatre enjoyed five sold-out shows last weekend, quite a feat for a movie that’s over 25 years old and has seen at least three releases on home video formats dating back to the Laserdisc. George Lucas Sells Company to Disney Talks of New Star Wars Trilogy

George Lucas sells Lucas Entertainment to Walt Disney and new trilogy set.

Were you one of the first in attendance when Star Wars hit theaters?  Did you dress up as R2D2 or C3PO for Halloween?  Or how about Darth Vadar?  That had to be the #1 costume for Halloween until the trilogy ended in 1983 with Return of the Jedi.

If you have the nostalgic attachment to the entire series, then you probably know by now that the creator of the Star Wars trilogy and prequels, George Lucas, put a “For Sale” sign in front of his production company, Lucas Entertainment, according to Yahoo! Movies. Continue reading
