When compared with the amount of energy needed to run a regular car powered by gasoline, the electric car built by the DeLaSalle students is equal to 452 miles per gallon!

  One student, Kevin Duley, had the typical dream of becoming a professional basketball player, but the invention changed his mind. He now wants to be a scientist.

*Ok not exactly. It’s the toilet posture that can really mess with your health. A new report from Time Magazine says sitting on the toilet isn’t our true nature. We were meant to squat. Toilets are relatively new, the article says, and it might be unhealthy.

They say the squat position wards off certain diseases including colon cancer.

As a result, a new industry is emerging with toilets that are more like holes in the ground to promote this ancient practice of squatting. Nature’s Platform device is a $150 buy that fits over toilets to make them more like holes in the ground. (more…)

*OMG! I want to throw up now. A little four-year-old boy may have an STD, herpes in his mouth because he put a used condom from a hotel room in his mouth! In July, his grandmother took him to the Wyndam Garden Inn downtown Atlanta. She stepped out of the bathroom and the next thing she knew, the boy was in the bathroom with his mouth wrapped around what he thought was a balloon. It was a used condom.

The grandmother, in her motherly ways, was going to take the condom to be tested, but the hotel manager stopped her. The boy sprouted up disgusting bumps around his mouth that did eventually go away. But the herpes is back, I’ma just call it like I see it. Now he’s got a breakout on his lips, tongue and inside of his mouth. Poor child. I hope the family sues they a**. (more…)

*What can we say that we already don’t know? Sarah Palin has been in the media more than she was when she was running for vice president. She’s made it clear what her stance is on just about everything, Tweeting just about every day about the things she thinks everyone cares for her opinion on.

Anyway, Jon Stewart recently got on the dogg “Dr.” Laura about her ridiculocity (it’s not a word, but you feel me). But he also got on Palin’s case. (Scroll down for the hilarious video.) (more…)

*Perhaps I’m on the late freight about this one but regardless the story is simply outrageous and further confirms Kanye West’s statement, “George Bush (substitute that for the government) doesn’t like Black people.”

The madness that ensued shortly after Katrina hit was like no other experience one could imagine, next to slavery. Police officers were shooting at will anyone they perceived was endangering them or others around them as well as looters.

The controversy is that officers were told by their superiors to take this stand. They were told to shoot looters. (more…)

*Have you ever met one of those people who are just too smart for their own good? They have the books, the academic accolades, and a very high up title behind their name. Well, biology professor at the University of California Berkeley, Dr. Tyrone Hayes, is one of those people.  He currently has some beef with herbicide manufacturer Syngenta because they have allegedly been attempting to debunk some of his research.

So, he took his 10-year feud to a whole ‘nother level. He wrote an email to the company, laced with very interesting rap lyrics, taken out of context of course. The most recent, he concluded his message with Ludacirs and Beanie Sigel, “I’m restless, tryna tell ‘em that I’m hotter than a burn of the 3rd degree, Then I try to tell ‘em that nobody in the world as hot as me,” on his “How Low Remix.”

Where were his friends? They are the ones who are supposed to keep him balanced in all things. I understand, the brotha’s got a cause to support, but this right here is laughable. (more…)
