The octuplet birth that is dominating the news is indeed intriguing.  The whole world, and every mother everywhere, wants to know what kind of crazy can you be when you have six children at home and you make a conscious decision to go out and be artificially inseminated with eight more.  Not only did she proceed with an in vitro procedure, but she also carried all eight to term after it was recommended by physicians to terminate some of the fetuses for her health and the health of the babies. The Superbowl was set off on a good foot with the explosive performance of the Star Spangled Banner as only Jennifer Hudson can do it.  She belted that song, arguably, better than Whitney Houston.  But, then, music producer, Ricky Minor, let the cat out the bag that her performance was possibly lip synced. Erykah Badu done gave birth AGAIN!  She and boyfriend, rapper Jay Electronica welcomed a baby girl on Super Bowl Sunday.  I know that I am gonna get some hate mail but DANG!  Can we not have a child with ALL of the “old school” rappers?  The first child (Seven) is by Andre 3000, the second (Puma) by the D.O.C. and now this one is by some no named rapper ain’t nobody ever heard of.  Not to dis’ Jay Electronica but he really is “unknown” if you ain’t surfing myspace and what not looking for underground rappers.  I’m just sayin’… (more…)

Juan Williams is known for sticking his foot in his mouth and speaking out of turn.  But apparently, he continues to do it to keep his sensationalism meter high. He was on Bill O’Reilly’s running his mouth a few days ago and he knew he should’ve kept his mouth shut the moment he uttered the words that Michelle Obama has “this Stokely Carmichael-in-a-designer-dress thing going.”  To say he’s a fool is an understatement, but he’s overstepped his boundaries as a journalist and a black man.

She is the First Lady and people better start recognizing that fact.  She deserves our respect and prayers and not our criticism and threats.  Juan Williams is an experienced journalism and he realizes the type of pernicious after effect he’s causing by making the association of her not properly supporting her husband with the comments she made on the campaign trail.  She had her words taken completely out of context when she said, “For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.” Listen to what he said for yourself.  If you don’t think he’s despicable, you’re watching the wrong clip:

The Johnson Publishing family is experiencing economical distress which has caused a shake-up of the magazine staff starting with the dismissal of Bryan Monroe.  Monroe was brought into the black magazine empire as the editor of both Ebony and Jet simultaneously, something that had never been done before.  Linda Johnson-Rice, the daughter of the late founder John Johnson, brought Monroe on the team as editorial director in 2007.  What’s up y’all?

Shouts out to the 2009 Super Bowl Champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers!!  They kicked butt!  Although I am not a football fan, I actually watched the ENTIRE Super Bowl game!

Speaking of the Super Bowl, I found myself glued to the television at 5:59 so that I would not miss a millisecond of J-Hud singing the national anthem and let me tell you … LIL SISTA SANG that SONG!  She put some “stank” on it!  Rocking a white shirt, black pants and a cropped jacket, lil’ sista looked relaxed and FABULOUS! According to my sources, right after she sang the anthem folks started blowing up BOTH of her cell phones.  Rumor has it that one of the text messages was from Jamie Foxx telling her that she did an AMAZING job.  Now I cannot wait for the Grammy’s!  I am taking wagers on how many statues lil’ sista is gonna be bringing back to the crib.  Y’all know I love me some J-Hud!!  And yes, she did sing it better than Whitney!  Nuff said… (more…)
