More than 6,500 fans, friends and supporters of the New Newark Bears braved the rain and wind when the Atlantic Division minor league baseball team took their home field for the launch of their 12th season on May 1, 2009.
Former U.S. Secretary of State, General Colin Powell shared the field with Newark Bears manager, former National League All-Star Tim Raines.  General Powell tossed out the ceremonial first pitch and (more…)

Dennis Rodman done agreed to go to rehab for his alcohol abuse…as long as it’s out patient.  According to E! he has agreed to see a counselor for his “issues.”  Personally, I believe that the Rod-Man needs to go to rehab for something just a tad bit stronger than alcohol…but that’s just me.  Nuff said… (more…)

Michael Vick has been under heavy attack over fighting dogs.  It appears that a man can get just as much press over fighting dogs as he can for killing another human being.

Yes, it’s wrong to fight dogs and participate in any form of animal cruelty, I get that, but now he’s being broken down to “psychopath” by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The Miss Black Sacramento pageant is for African American young women who are judged mainly by their talent more than anything else in the pageant.

The pageant is a reputable event that helps the young women of Sacramento with skills of social grace like making a formal table and according to the Sacramento Bee, “The pageant, which long ago dumped the swimsuit competition and offers more points for talent than beauty, rewards the winner with scholarship money and teaches girls to be ladies, organizers said.”

The chairman of the Republican National Committe, Michael Steele, is showing again why he’s a sellout and Republican party patsy. We won’t even bother to mention the other obvious: he’s also a jealous, Obama hater.

He recently agreed with a caller, while hosting conservative host/pundit Bill Bennett’s radio show, who said that President Obama is “the magic negro.”

Interestingly, as ThinkProgress.org reminds, during the January campaign for chairmanship of the RNC, Steele slammed his then opponent, Chip Saltsman’s distribution of a CD with a song called “Barack the Magic Negro.”
