Last August Meghan talked to Glamour magazine and described her mom, a social worker and yoga instructor, as a “free spirit!”
“…My mom has always been a free spirit. She’s got dreadlocks and a nose ring. She just ran the LA marathon,” the former Suits actress who will tie the knot with her beloved Prince Harry as the world watches this weekend, said.
According to what a source close to Meghan’s mom told Us Weekly, Ragland, who works with the geriatric community, has been planning to leave her current job for a while now.

The news of her departure came on the same day that Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father, decided he would not be going to his daughter’s wedding after all. According to an interview with TMZ on May 14, Thomas Markle, who has a background as a cinematographer, said that amidst claims that he purposely staged photos with paparazzi, he has decided against being at the May 19 nuptials to walk his daughter down the aisle.
A decision Meghan is reportedly just sick over.
Nevertheless, the soon-to-be bride has also said she doesn’t want to let anything spoil her big day, and her parents adore her beau, and wrote a lovely statement for the press (note the Kensington Palace stationary).
