Say What! Six Male Celebs Who Swear They Won’t Leave Their Kids ‘One Red Cent’

It's not blank...it's ZERO!
It’s not blank…it’s ZERO!

*It’s hard to believe that some of the world’s wealthiest people are playing hardnose when it comes to helping their kids financially once they’re gone. After all, this is when the old saying, “you can’t take it with you,” really sinks in. Yet and still, some of these millionaires and billionaires are taking a more humble stance when it comes to inheritance and children. They feel that giving their children a “silver spoon” so-to-speak will do nothing but make them lazy (and even more?privileged?than a lack of melanin already has).

At least that’s the story their telling.

Personally, I’d feel “better” about these tight-fisted celebs’ point of view if it turned out the kids treated them like shit; or showed themselves to be disrespectful in some way. But there goes my small-mindedness sneaking out.? Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if these same people had a change of heart; even if its on their death bed.

Gimme a pen, will ya doc?

Here are six of ’em who swear that when they die, they’re giving ALL of their money to charity and the children they leave behind won’t get…

one red cent.

Sting

They don't know yet.
They don’t know yet.

Ouch.?According to the?Daily Mail?Sting told his children that he?ll be spending his own money. ?I told [the kids] there won’t be much money left because we are spending it! We have a lot of commitments. What comes in, we spend, and there isn’t much left,? the Police frontman said.

?I certainly don’t want to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks,? Sting, the father of six grown kids, continued. ?They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.?

Bill Gates

Just look at this happy family. I wonder if the kids have gotten dad's memo yet.

Gates, who has three kids with his wife, said in 2010: ?I knew I didn’t think it was a good idea to give the money to my kids. That wouldn’t be good either for my kids or society.?

Simon Cowell

I can practically hear Simon Cowell's thick British accent as he justifies exactly "why daddy won't be leaving you any money, son."

Are we really THAT surprised that the meanest reality show judge is a tight-wad??A brand new dad whose son, Eric, was born in 2014, Cowell wasted no time sharing that he would not leave any of his $300 million to the boy. ??I’m going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably — kids and dogs,? he told Esquire UK. ?I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to another.?

Philip Seymour Hoffman

At this point all we can do is wonder.
At this point all we can do is wonder.

The extremely talented and beloved actor sadly passed in 2014 from a heroin overdose.?But he was another one who did not believe in the whole “trust fund kid” thing. After his death, it was revealed that Hoffman did not leave any money to his three children. Instead, his fortune was left to their mother, his longtime girlfriend Mimi O?Donnell.

George Lucas

This is one wealthy filmmaker! A father of four, he has amassed upwards of $4 Billion dollars from his work. In 2010 he joined Bill Gates’ Giving Pledge and promised to donate half of his money to charity. His pledge letter read: ?I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education.? Two years later?he shared that he would be donating the over $4 billion he received from Disney for Lucas Films.

…Not one red cent!

Jackie Chan

He's giving the peace sign now, but what he's REALLY thinking is, "But dad, what would Chris Tucker do?"

Now this is a real shocker.?In 2011, the 61-year-old actor and martial artist revealed that he will not be leaving a cent to his son Jaycee when he dies. Instead, he will be giving away half his fortune to charity.

?If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting my money,? Chan told Channel News Asia.
