*Beginning February 26, Jazz enthusiasts will be introduced to “The Jazz Creative,” a new music series that will feature legendary musicians in the world of jazz music along with up and coming artists.
The program, which airs at 10p.m. PST and 1a.m. EST on Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson’s ASPIRE TV network, aims to reach 37 million television homes and can also be accessed online at www.allmusictelevision.net.
“The Jazz Creative viewership will not only listen to great music from these artists. They will also enjoy the rare opportunity of getting into their heads to learn what drives them personally and professionally. They will learn of the journey each artist has endured, and the artistic process overall.
As you will see in the official “clip” below, Terence Blanchard talks to series host and curator, LeRoy Downs, a LA-based Jazz radio ,personality about the Code of Silence being paramount to “passive approval.” Jason Moran take us inside of his creative process. Badass bassist Christian McBride talks about Gamble and Huff and the whole Philly Sound that began in the 70’s.
