Good Samaritan in N. C. Shot & Killed By Driver He Tried to Help

*Damn. Damn. Damn! This is exactly the kind of stuff that makes people apprehensive about helping a stranger.

The scene: A car had slid off the highway in Catawba, North Carolina on Friday and a group of good Samaritans got out of their cars to assist the driver. And when they felt they needed even more assistance, they called the sheriff’s office.

Big mistake.

The authorities say that when the driver of the troubled vehicle caught wind of this, he went berserk and started shooting at the people; who at this time began running to their cars.

One person was not so fortunate and got hit by a bullet. Upon seeing the injured person on the ground, the driver — identified as Marvin Lee, walked up and continued shooting at the victim.

Lee ran to his vehicle and wouldn’t come out. It took a tactical team in an armored car and pepper spray to retrieve him.

Authorities say he appeared to be under the influence of something.
