*Imagine your cellphone saving your life. And not because you called 911 on it. Because you had it at your ear and it caught the bullet meant for your head.
One man caught up in the catastrophic events in Paris this past week says if it wasn’t for his cellphone, he’d be dead now.
Going by Sylvestre only, the man spoke with iTele in France to reveal the horrific experience that was unfolding in France at the time.
“Look here, this is my phone that saved my life. Otherwise my head would’ve exploded,” Sylvestre told the French media as he showed them the phone, damaged by gunfire. The phone had absorbed the impact of a bullet and had a shattered screen.
Sylvestre also had other wounds. He said he had been shot in the foot, and his torso had been grazed by a bullet. When speaking with the media he was still in his blood-stained T-shirt and was wearing one shoe. His foot had been treated by onsite medics as he spoke with the media.
“I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” he said.
The attack happened at Stade de France in Paris around 9:17 p.m. on Friday night; while a friendly game of soccer was being played between France and Germany in front of 80,000 spectators. Though a loud detonator sound was clearly heard, reports say attendees thought it was firecrackers and even chanted “Ole!”
At what appears to be a conclusion to the ISIS admitted attack, more than 300 people were injured, and approximately 158 people dead.
Seven of the terrorists are also reportedly dead.
