Taco Bell Exec Fired After Camera Catches Him Attacking Uber Driver

*Benjamin Golden used to be an executive at Taco Bell. That was before he got stupid drunk and decided to beat up the Uber driver.

On camera.

As someone who takes Uber regularly, these drivers didn’t sign up for that.

Before he proved he wasn’t even worthy of leading someone to the restroom, Golden actually headed Taco Bell’s mobile commerce division. But once his higher ups at the company saw the video of him pummeling an innocent Uber driver–who was kicking him out of the car because he was too drunk to give directions, they got rid of him.

The video (scroll down) went viral after it was posted on YouTube by the driver, Edward Caban.

Caban, 33, is heard on camera asking Golden to get out of his car repeatedly.

“You’re too drunk to give me directions,” Caban can be heard saying on a dash cam video. “I’m kicking you out, man,” Caban said as he pulled over.

At first it looks like Golden is going to exit the car, but he stops and starts punching Caban in the head. Caban blasts him in the face with his pepper spray before the intoxicated driver leaves the car, as Caban, who gets out too, is heard asking passerby to “call the cops please.”

In an email to CNBC, the Taco Bell company states,

“Given the behavior of the individual, it is clear he can no longer work for us. We have also offered and encouraged him to seek professional help.”

Caban has since quit driving for Uber saying he fears for his safety.

He said he had actually installed the dash cam because there were “too many incidents,” and Uber does nothing to protect its drivers.

“Uber listens to the passenger, and when they get a complaint, that’s who they listen to. They don’t get insight from the driver,” Caban told Fox News after his video went viral online.

Golden has not been arrested but he faces assault charges.
