*The parents of two brothers who tried to kill them on September 5 say they forgive their sons.
The siblings, Cameron Ervin, 17 and Christopher Ervin, 22, shot their father and tried to strangle him and their mother with a plastic bag. The mother was able to get away and call 911.
The siblings told authorities that their home life was horrible, and one son even admitted this was not their first attempt. And he had been planning the murder since he was 11.
But the young men’s mother, Yvonne Ervin, with bruises still visible on her face, told WSB-TV, “Those were not our boys that did that to us. We did not raise them that way.”
Yvonne and Zachery Ervin spoke out while they were at a hearing for their sons at the Gwinnett County Court.
“We understand there are consequences for what they did,” Ervin added. “They understand that, but we’re just praying the world forgives them in the same way we forgive them.”
They say they love them and want to make sure they know this so they can become strong and get through the repercussions that will now follow their misdeeds.
“We forgive our sons, we love them unconditionally,” Zachery Ervin said. “We have to make sure that they understand that to strengthen themselves.”
