Our Community Vs. Their Rogue Cops: Ohio Cop Pulls Man Over for ‘Making Direct Eye Contact’ (Watch)

*Well if this doesn’t beat all, I am at a loss for what will. Police officers generally get suspicious if you avoid eye-contact with them; but according to one man, the excuse a Dayton police officer used for tailing him before he eventually pulled him over, was because he did make direct eye contact with him.

Sheesh, talk about being damned if you do, damned if you don’t!

I’ll give you a minute to shake your head.

John Felton, who previously lived in Ohio, but has since moved to Michigan, was pulled over in front of his mom’s house. Though he was initially told by the officer that he allegedly activated his turn signal less than 100 feet before making a right turn, he suspected there was more to this because it was hard to believe he would be stopped for such a shallow technicality.

Felton probed a bit deeper, asking the officer for the real reason he was followed for several blocks and eventually pulled over.

“Because you made direct eye contact with me and held onto it when I was passing you,” the officer responded.

Wanna bet he said this with a straight face.

The offer threatened Felton, a black man if you hadn’t guessed by now, with a citation for the “superficial stop” if he protested it in any way.

Thank goodness for videotape! Felton was able to document the incident (scroll down to see the video) and gave it to the David Pakman Show.

But Felton says he never even made the alleged eye contact with the cop.

“What? I didn’t even see you,” you can hear him say in the video.

Felton believes the real reason he was stopped is because he was driving with out-of-state plates, and possibly, driving while black.

He was in Ohio with Michigan plates.

“I got a nice car. I don’t know if he seen I was a black male. I feel like I was targeted, the Michigan car and it was about 11 o’clock at night,” he told ABC 22.

Believe me Mr. Felton, if he saw you “making direct eye contact,” he no doubt noticed your race.

Dayton Police wrote on Twitter that they’re reviewing the tape, and Felton says a sergeant emailed him Thursday to get his side of the story.
