*We may wonder what a gynecologist or urologist might the ‘thinking’ as they check our privates. But have you ever wondered what actually goes on when you’re under sedation?
Your actions in the future may change after you read this article.
A Vienna man who innocently pressed ‘record’ on his smartphone just before he drifted off from anesthesia so that he would capture the doctor’s post operative instructions following his colonoscopy, ended up recording an opening act that he never expected.
As he listened to the recording on his way home, he was shocked to hear the doctor insulting him and laughing about it with her medical team.
The Washington Post obtained the audio below where you hear anesthesiologist Tiffany M. Ingham (pictured below) saying things like…
“After five minutes of talking to you in pre-op, I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit.”
And baby, that’s just for starters.
Ingham went on to joke with a medical assistant advising the person not to touch an apparent rash the man had, saying, she might get “some syphilis on your arm or something,” as she chuckles. “It’s probably tuberculosis in the penis, so you’ll be all right,” the anesthesiologist then snickered.
The man remains unidentified, but he subsequently sued Ingham and another doctor involved with the procedure over the 2013 incident and was recently awarded $500,000 by a jury.
“I’ve never heard of a case like this,” Lee Berlik, a lawyer who specializes in defamation law, told The Washington Post.
Berlik stated that although comments exchanged between doctors are usually privileged, the recording added a different twist.
The Washington Post went on a diligent attempt to reach Ingham for a comment, but of course they were unable to find her.
But rest assured, she can’t hide forever. And heaven help her, how do you show your face after something like this. Whew!
Here she is…and the audio of her remarks follow directly below.
Now listen to the audio that the patient recorded.
