(Los Angeles, April 1, 2015)–When entrepreneur Onyxx Monopoly throws a party, you’d better believe there’s going to be at least three outstanding ingredients: Great food. Live entertainment. And good people. Why? Because that’s how she rolls. Ms. Monopoly will be bringing people together on Easter Sunday to help celebrate her upcoming 35th birthday at an ALL YOU CAN EAT Brunch and an amazing EASTER EGG HUNT for the kids (topped off with a surprise visit by the Easter Bunny!) in an exquisite garden setting.
Monopoly, a mother of seven, two of which were adopted), has a love for bringing people together over good food and stimulating conversation. And those attending this fabulous Easter Sunday event can look forward to a menu of Fresh Salad, Tomato Caprese, Vegetable ratatouille, Deviled eggs, Muffins, Croissants, Danishes, Baguettes, fresh sliced Fruit Platters, platters filled with European Cheeses and a Made-to-Order Omelet Bar.
And that’s just for starters!
The menu will also include.
Bacon, Homemade Sausages, Chicken and Mushroom Crepes, Breakfast Potatoes, Fresh Vegetables, Pastas, Baked ham, Seafood and Pepper crusted Prime Rib.
And you can also expect an awesome Dessert Menu, with Assorted Mousse cakes, Petits Fours, Berry Tartlets, Cakes, Pies and Operas.
Now of course Onyxx, being a mother, knows what all children REALLY want. Not to worry, she’s got them covered with their very own buffet of Mac and cheese, French fries, and everything else! You can trust that they won’t be disappointed!
Free soft drinks and Mimosa’s round out the scrumptious menu!
In February, Onyxx Monopoly presented the successful, “When Africa Met France (Creole Was Born)” – an intriguing, formal evening of fine Creole cuisine and culture, celebrating Black History Month, family unity and the act of giving back. A special toast honored filmmaker/producer/actor and author, Bill Duke, and proceeds from the event went to “Bridge to Home” – a homeless shelter and non-profit organization that was there for Onyxx in her own time of need. Duke was moved greatly when a magnificent portrait of him was presented by Monopoly and famed Hollywood artist, Clarence “Pencilman, Pointer” who is said to have created the drawing within 24-hours.
The event brought out a diverse blend of guests including Hollywood celebrities, media, and families and friends. At the event, Monopoly also gave away a car through her company, Hooked on Onyxx. But this was no ordinary car. This car is set to be built by Alexander Ellis, of the What If Foundation. And Monopoly received great news recently that the foundation has committed to partner with Hooked on Onyxx and give away four custom-built cars this year!!!
All in attendance at the February event, which was a “9th Annual” celebration that originated in Utah – where Monopoly formerly resided – enjoyed the hosts’ original recipes for Gumbo – served family-style and prepared by 5-star award-winning chef, Philip Christodoulou. The delectable Beignets were prepared by French pastry chef, Christian Boinard. The red-carpet was busy with celebrities from music, stage and screen.
Duke, a longtime friend and mentor of Onyxx, was selected for the honor in recognition of his courageous attempts to broach the subject of colorism via the documentaries “Dark Girls” and “Light Girls” – the latter of which featured Monopoly. The films, which had their world premiere on OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network, are credited with providing a platform for the “global analysis” of an issue in need of greater dialogue.
All proceeds from this event will go towards Onyxx Monopoly’s 2015-2016 ‘Smile, You Are Beautiful Inspirational School tour.
