In writing Gloria’s One Dish Recipes, Kamil drew on her 40 years of experience as a health and fitness expert.  She refers to herself as a “transformationist” because transforming the bodies, minds and health of others is what she does.  For the past 16 years, she has worked exclusively as a holistic, whole food nutrition professional, fitness expert and consultant and lifestyle-change coach.  Kamil explains that to lose (weight) is to misplace; to release is to let go and her method is highly effective because it lies in not just releasing weight but in creating an overall lifestyle change that endures throughout a person’s life. 
More than just a cookbook, Gloria’s One Dish Recipes is a testament to Kamil’s conviction that healthy eating doesn’t have to be bland.  “Eating a balanced and healthy meal is a challenge for most people today. A certified personal fitness trainer, Kamil holds certifications from the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the world’s largest non-profit fitness certifying organization and the Pilates Institute of America.  In 2009 Kamil released “Body Basic Weight Training Workout” a successful exercise DVD that is still being sold at Wal-Mart and on 
Kamil’s personal journey into whole health started over 40 years ago in Texas after the near death of her infant daughter who was misdiagnosed and prescribed the wrong medication.  That experience was the incentive for Kamil to learn everything she could about holistic health and nutrition and without realizing it, she created a new lifestyle and transformed herself from a passive participant in her own health to an active participant.  She no longer wanted ordinary health; she wanted extraordinary health, for herself and her family.
