*OK that’s it, I want to be Queen and rule my Queendom – whose people live in a land far, far away from Los Angeles – online. What? Have you forgotten we live in the age of the Internet and now anything is possible!?

Just ask King Togbe Ngoryifia Céphas Kosi Bansah, the 66-year-old ruler of the people that live in the Hohoe area of southeastern Ghana. He is their leader…and he governs them via Skype.

Bansah moved to Germany as a foreign exchange student, according to The Independent. But the student decided not to return home to Ghana after falling in love with a woman named Gabrielle, who is has since made his wife.

It was only after his grandfather – the then reigning king – died in 1987, that he took over the throne.

According to sources “he was chosen over his elder brother and father because both are left-handed, an attribute that his people believe is unclean and indicative of dishonesty.”

Dammit! There goes my Queendom.

Reports state that Bansah runs a garage in Germany, but that doesn’t stop him from doing his job of governing 200,000 people of Hohoe via Skype and telephone calls. It is said that he often stays awake all night to rule and settle tribal disputes.

He recently made headlines after thieves broke into his home in Ludwigshafen, and stole most of his royal regalia, including his crowns and golden chains his grandparents once owned. The stolen items were valued at £15,900.

  1. Its rather unfortunate the Ngoryifia Togbe Cephas Kosi Bansah had lost those precious regalia . The German government must do everything possible to bring the culprits to book .
I share my sympathy with the king .
it is my prayer that the good lord keep him strong and healthy all the time .
