*Remember the woman who got sympathy from many after she was in court crying due to her arrest in Arizona? She had been charged with leaving her young children in a hot car.
Many felt her pain, after it was revealed that she wasn’t just being irresponsible; she had no other options, and left her two children in the car as she attended a job interview.
But according to reports by the New York Daily News, she did not.
Taylor failed to put the money in the trust fund by the deadline imposed by the judge, throwing away the “deal of a lifetime,” said her attorney Benjamin Taylor, who has since left the case claiming he has “an ethical conflict with his client.”
Prosecutors charged that Taylor was spending more than $4,000 a month on non-essential items, and she is even being accused by a former supporter of spending some of the money on a rap album.
“We had someone call my office and alert her attorney to the fact that she spent $6,000 at a music studio in Tempe to finish her baby daddy’s rap album,” the Rev. Jarrett Maupin told ABC. “That’s not what people gave her that money for.”
Additionally, Maupin told FOX 10 that he believes Taylor has “turned into a diva who refuses to explain where the money is.”
FOX 10 reports:
“When it wasn’t spent to pay rent, it wasn’t spent to buy a new car, it wasn’t spent on the children’s trust, yet you’re applying for a public defender because you’re broke…all signs point to the money being gone,” says Maupin.
Fox notes that answers may come during Taylor’s trial for felony child abuse scheduled to begin Dec. 10. She has been assigned a public defender.
