NC Teacher, Cynthia Ramsey, Shares ‘Bucket List’ With Class: ‘I Would Kill All Black People’ (Watch!)

“I would kill all black people if I only had 10 days to live” is what Cynthia Ramsey allegedly told her math class, according to parent Kimberly Ashcraft, pictured above.

*OK, so let me get this straight so that I can accurately pass it on to you: We all know what a “Bucket List” is right?

For those who may not, its a list of things you may have never gotten to do, but really want to do before you die. For example, you may want to visit Paris or Spain or Africa; you may want to hit the lotto, or even teach school. Well, when one North Carolina teacher was sharing her Bucket List to students, she allegedly told them that she would kill all black people if she only had one week to live.

Add to that, she has since returned to class.

African American students in particular must still be in shock after witnessing the insensitive and utterly nasty, racist remark of Camden County High School math teacher, Cynthia Ramsey. It was a parent who contacted the school and told them that the teacher had allegedly said if she only had 10 days to live she would kill all black people, after discussing her bucket list with the students.

Kimberly Ashcraft, the mother of the student who reported the incident told  WAVY-TV,

“She conveyed to me that Mrs. Ramsey had indicated that if she only had 10 days to live that she would kill all black people,”  Other students were around, and confirmed that the teacher had made the remark.

“I was completely shocked,” Ashcraft said. “I asked her again, ‘are you sure that was what you heard?’ I could not have imagined a teacher saying that.”

Though Ramsey was suspended without pay following an incredibly quick “investigation,” she was right back in class (and at her job as the math department head) within two days; even though numerous students contacted the sheriff’s office and told a similar story.

“I was very disappointed to hear that she was back in the classroom so soon,” Ashcraft said. “As a parent, I felt compelled to come forward and tell somebody, because this was not only in my opinion a direct threat to the black children in the school, but also black people in the community.”

Superintendent Melvin Hawkins told WAVY that:

At this point, our main concern is to investigate this incident thoroughly, and collect the facts. This is a personnel issue, and it is confidential until resolved. We are following protocol in this investigation and student and school employee investigations are confidential.

  1. How is the school administration comfortable that, a teacher, who, obviously hates blacks (innocent or not), is now, or has been treating black children fairly? Is she undermining black children surreptitiously? Is she finding ways to damage their self esteem? Directing snide and/or dismissive remarks to whatever black children have to offer? So many ways she can covertly work to hurt the black students entrusted to her care. Yet, the administrators feel there’s nothing to be concerned about? Perhaps they feel the same way she does? Just a few thoughts that come to mind.

  2. I am astounded that she is back in the classroom already. So much so that I went to the school website, made a list of the available email addresses of several school personnel, and emailed them my thoughts on this issue-mainly that to continue to allow this person to teach is counterproductive and damaging to say the least, and sends a strong message that this type of speech is tolerable and acceptable. She was quick to email me back with her “I would never…” speech, but why didn’t she say that to the reporters that tried to contact her? An innocent person will stand up for herself. I hope the school administration fires her when the case comes up for review in a couple of weeks. One student might lie, but not several. And, if she was such a stand-up, awesome teacher who loves and helps black people, as she stated in her email, then why would ANY student make up such a story about her, and why would several students corroborate it? They stand to gain nothing by lying on this woman.

  3. I don’t understand why so many people are so surprised that this still goes on in the year 2014, don’t they realize that we live in what might possibly be the most racist counrty on the planet, (i just love it when i hear a great many whites say, well i wasn’t around when all that racist stuff was going on) , but never realizing that they are benefiting as a direct result of the Jim Crow days that have carried over to this very day, now i know that there are some good white people out there, but you all have to realize that when you see or hear something that makes a class of people feel as though they are second class citizens and you say nothing about it then you are condoning it just as much as that person who said or did the deed…just a little food for thought!!!
