*Here’s a bit of good new out of the NFL – because we all know they could use some these days. Wink. Wink.
In a gesture of brotherly love, Ma’ake Kemoeatu, left the rivalry between his former team, the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers – who his sibling once played for – in the past. He had something much more important to do: donate a kidney to the Steelers’ former guard – who happened to be his younger brother, Chris Kemoeatu.
Though the two teams are known to be heated rivals, this one act proved the old cliche is true, blood IS thicker than mud!
Ma’ake revealed why he did what he did on Wednesday at a press conference at the University of Maryland Medical Center, according to The Baltimore Sun.
“I’ve seen him struggle and the last three years of his career, fighting through a lot because of his kidney,” he said. “When we found out he needed a transplant, we had to stop our careers because his health was most important to us.”
The kidney transplant occurred on August 27, and it was a success. Both brothers are doing well.
