*For those of us who love to eat, (because we obviously love to drink!) this is especially great news. With the weekend fast-approaching, and Friday “Happy Hour” already on the mind, Yahoo has put together a list of foods that will make your “morning after” a bit more bearable.
Eating the right foods can be better than any medicine when it comes to curing those hangover blues. Now, if there was any real cure for a hangover, we’d probably know it by now, but there are certain foods that help make you feel better than others.
If you’re a breakfast anytime of the day kind of person, you’ll like this first hangover eliminating dish.
Eggs. They are loaded with amino acids that boost liver function.
Bananas, or kiwi (or any potassium-rich food) Alcohol’s diuretic effect causes us to lose a lot of this electrolyte when we drink too much.
Gherkin pickles. Rich in vitamin A, vitamin K, iron, calcium, manganese, and potassium, all of which help reduce hangover symptoms.
Tomatoes. Full of lycopene, an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, shows us it not that Bloody Mary that’s making you feel better, it’s the tomato juice.
Ginger. An anti-inflammatory, it blocks serotonin receptors in your stomach, so it’s great for battling nausea.
Nuts, especially salted ones, will help balance your blood sugar levels, which are probably soaring right about now.
And we all know this one (but sadly, we don’t drink enough of it!) Water (lots of it!) Alcohol dehydrates the body, so we must replenish often.
If you find that you still feel lousy click here to whip the recipe that will get you back on your feet in no time.
You’re very welcome.
