Robin Roberts’ illness has probably been one of the most publicly played out. The GMA anchor was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a rare blood disorder once known as pre-leukemia. The Purple One has suffered from seizures since he was was a child and in a 2009 interview on the PBS show Tavis Smiley, he revealed that he was born epileptic and that his “mother and father didn’t know what to do or how to handle it but they did the best they could with what little they had.”
