*Yep, that’s what happened.
These two young brothers could have gotten in some serious trouble for arriving at school 30 minutes late, but they had one heck of a good excuse.
They saved a boy and his grandfather from a burning house along the way.
Michael Eugene and Isaiah Palmer thought they heard a noise while walking to school. They went to check it out and saw that it was a house on fire. They jumped into action immediately, rushing inside.
“The first pop, we thought it was gun shots,” said Eugene. “We looked over and saw the house was on fire,” Palmer corroborated.
“When we got the grandfather and the grandchild out, and quickly we just ran outside,” Michael added.
The teens, both honor students at Motivational High School, were given a heroic welcome when they got to school and officials learned what had transpired.
And like true heroes, they played down all the fanfare with Michael saying, “It wasn’t much of a big deal,” followed by Isaiah’s comment that it was “Just a normal day.”
Guys, you make us so proud.
