*Oh man! Nothing can put a nasty taste in the mouth of a marriage like a prenup.
Dang…Must we do this sweetie?
Unfortunately, “yes we must,” was the answer according to actions taken by Real Housewife of Atlanta star, Kandi Burruss.
Thus the planned wedding between Burruss and her betrothed, Todd Tucker went off with a hitch and was anything but simple. Especially since Mama Joyce, Kandi’s mother, has always suspected Todd to be in it for her daughters money.
According to E! Online, a big fight ensued at the wedding over whether Todd would actually sign the strict prenuptial agreement protecting Kandi’s assets just in case there is a divorce.
“Kandi married Todd Tucker this past weekend and [her mom] Joyce was not happy about it,” a source told E! “Joyce and Kandi got into a fight just before the wedding. Joyce is upset that Todd would not agree to sign the prenup. The couple got married without one, which led Joyce to believe her suspicions all along: he just wants Kandi for her money.”
The wedding took place on April 4th, and fellow RHOA cast member Phaedra Parks was a bridesmaid, and singer Fantasia Barrino, a good friend of Kandi’s who gave an emboldened speech at the wedding, also participated.
We have no iron-clad proof that Todd ended up signing the prenup or if the issue is still pending, we have learned that he’s anything but happy about it.
Hmm…This does lead one to wonder if Mama Joyce might be on to something.
“I got a little pissed at the bridegroom the night before this wedding. He kind of held up on signing the prenup and didn’t come to the rehearsal dinner because he didn’t want to sign it,” Mama Joyce told TooFab.
“His mom said she didn’t see no reason for him to have to sign because they were in love. He was the one who didn’t have a damn thing, but that’s another story,” Mama Joyce complained. “But from what I understand, he did sign.”
Don’t you have a feeling there will be more to come on this story? And let us know if you feel parents (Um, Mama Joyce to be exact) need to stay out of their grown azz childrens’ business.
