Everyone in the world wants to be “Happy!” And now, the United Nations, an organization that promotes peace and international cooperation, has adopted his Oscar-nominated tune to use as the anthem for the International Day of Happiness.
According to the organizations website, the song will help encourage “people to take action to support the UN and to create a happier world for people everywhere.”
And guess what, Pharrell wants you in on the action too!
Williams’ new album Girl has reached No. 1 in more than 75 countries, and “Happy,” which is featured on the album, has topped the iTunes chart in more than 90 countries.
According to thegrio, Pharrell is accepting photo submissions or videos of you being, well, HAPPY! That means dancing, singing or any display of happiness (within reason, of course). Do this with the hashtag #HAPPYDAY to Williams’ website: www.24hoursofhappiness.com/.
And don’t think your Happiness will go unnoticed. Williams will share the best submissions on March 20 at noon in each time zone.
Good luck! Happiness belongs to us ALL. Let’s claim it!!
