*Surely you recall the story we shared a few days ago, where a video showed a mother (pictured above) seemingly high on heroin, swaying and nodding on a Philadelphia bus while her daughter held her head and pleaded “Mama, mama” as passengers stepped over her on the way to their seats.
Well, hallelujah! According to Huffington Post, the child has been removed from the home by the Department of human Services in the city of Philadelphia.
The girl is now being cared for by her godparents, WPVI reports.
The 26-year-old woman may be doing what’s known as a “heroin nod,” officials suggest.
It is with stories like this that social media does the most good. Because of a public outcry, an official investigation took place and the child was taken from the home.
Still, as the authorities later explained, while they do not encourage the public to approach situations like this, as one never knows what may be going on, they do, however, want you to take action – such as notify a driver or other authority while the situation is occurring.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, a woman believed to be the girl’s mother may have posted the disturbing message below.
She apparently sobered up long enough to type.
BE ADVISED: IT’S EXPLICIT!!
“I FUCKING HOPE ALL YOU SKUMBAGS OUT THERE ARE FUCKING HAPPY. I JUST LOST THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD TO ME ALL BECAUSE PPL THINK BEFORE THEY OPEN THERE MOUTHS!”
