* In the wee hours of the morning on February 15, Luis Rodriguez attempted to diffuse an argument between his wife and their daughter in the driveway of a movie theater. When police intercepted, they beat him to death… right in front of them both.Â
According to reports by News9.com, it was just past midnight when the argument between Nair Rodriguez and her daughter Lunahi began. Eventually, it escalated to the point that the mother ended up slapping her daughter and angrily walked away. Her husband ran after her in an attempt to calm her down.
Enter three Moore, Oklahoma police officers, who is said to have asked Rodriguez for ID, before they wrestled him to the ground.
Lunahi Rodriguez said that five officers beat her father to death right in front of her, in the theater’s parking lot.
â€śWhen they flipped him over you could see all the blood on his face, it was, he was disfigured, you couldnâ€™t recognize him.â€ť
According to the mother and daughter, Rodriguez attempted toÂ bypass the officers to stop his wife from driving off because she was so angry. That’s when the officers took him down and everything escalated.
By the time it was all over, Nair Rodriguez said that she knew her husband was dead.
â€śI saw him. His [motionless] body when people carry it to the stretcher,â€ť she explained. â€śI knew that he was dead.â€ť
She explained further, â€śI told them I hit her and he was just trying to reach me. Why didnâ€™t they arrest me?â€ť
Three of the officers are on paid administrative leave.
