*Right on the heels of the whole Megyn Kelly “Santa is just white” debacle, we learn that a high school teacher in New Mexico has been “disciplined” because he told a black student that “Santa is white.”

The remark came after students were informed that they could come to school dressed as Santa, an elf, or a reindeer; but when Christopher, the ninth grade son of Michael Rougier came to school in his Santa Claus outfit, his teacher said to him, “Don’t you know Santa Claus is white? Why are you wearing that?”

Officials at the school in Rio Rancho, which is about 15 miles north of Albuquerque, announced Friday that the teacher was recently disciplined for his comments to the student, but they declined to say how,  according to reports by KOB-TV.

The teacher, whose name has not been released, still works at Cleveland High School, but Christopher is no longer in his class. His father still has concerns.

“If he has that attitude, how is it affecting students, studies, grading habits, trending toward Caucasian kids?” Rougier said of the teacher.

Attempts by The Associated Press to reach school officials Saturday were unsuccessful.
