Facebook members probably never thought they would unwittingly made witnesses to a murder.
Derek Medina, 30, took a picture of his wife’s lifeless body and posted it to Facebook after he shot and killed her. Unbelievable, right? Even more chilling, commenters left messages that read “What happened???? derek” and “That is my friend there. jennifer Alfonso.” according to News One and he confessed to the crime both by cell phone and on his Facebook page.
The Facebook post read:
“I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news” my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope you understand me.”
Yes, you are going to jail. He turned himself in to authorities and they found her body in their South Miami apartment along with a 10-year-old girl who was left unharmed. The grisly photo of Jennifer Alfonso’s body on his Facebook page showed her bent backward with her feet behind her and blood on her left arm and face laying on the floor between what appears to be a refrigerator and stove.
The crime is unimaginable because he not only killed her, but broadcasted the crime to all of their friends and family via Facebook. Let’s pray that this does not become a disturbing new social media trend. It took five hours for his page to be dismantled.
