The police department stays in trouble so much, one would think they would extend their officers’ training or have quarterly training for all officers in every area of enforcement. Otherwise, they’re going to go bankrupt with paying for lawsuits and damages.
Daniel Chong, 24, is an engineering student at the University of California, who was a part of a drug raid that swept up nine suspects on April 21. The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) “netted 18,000 ecstasy pills, other drugs and weapons,” according to the Daily Mail.
But when Chong and others were held in a cell, two were held, but the others were released. Unfortunately, Chong was mistakenly left behind in a with no food or water for five days in a five foot by 10 foot windowless holding cell. According to the report, Chong began to lose his mind and hallucinate.
“‘I was completely insane,’ he said. ‘It’s impossible to describe hallucinations like these.’…’I had to recycle my own urine,’ he said. ‘I had to do what I had to do to survive.'”
Mr Chong also said that he bit into his glasses to break them and tried to use a shard to scratch ‘Sorry Mom’ into his arm, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
During Chong’s ordeal he lost 15 pounds, and ingested a white powder left in the cell, which was later found to be methamphetamine ACCIDENTALLY left in the cell. I haven’t said this in a while, but I know Ed Lover would proud when I say, “C’MON SON!!” What kind of fraggle nackle bull shiggidy is going on in California. The Justice department settled the lawsuit against the department for $4.1 million, but originally planned to ask for $20 million…and rightfully so!
