The argument supporters of George Zimmerman attempt to make is that he is not a racist and the case against him was not a clear case of murder. But, another Zimmerman-like fellow didn’t get to walk because a video left NO DOUBT.
We wish there would’ve been video surveillance for Trayvon that tragic evening, but John Henry Spooner, 76, was caught on video and the jury had no other choice but to find him guilty of first degree murder. There was no shadow of a doubt in this case and the video is one of the most disturbing and tragic set of events you will ever see as you become witness to the senseless death of 13-year-old Darius Simmons.
The Milwaukee teen is seen bringing in his trash cans on a video from Spooner’s surveillance camera that appears to be mounted on Spooner’s front porch. Spooner sees the boy taking in the cans and goes in his house–possibly to retrieve his gun– and came back out to confront the boy. According to the Huffington Post, Spooner complained about the “black family” next door and accused the boy of breaking into his home and stealing several weapons.
“Simmons’ mother, Patricia Larry, testified in court that Spooner accused her son of burglarizing his home, stealing several weapons. She said Spooner told Simmons he’d teach him a lesson before firing the fatal shot. She added that her son died in her arms moments later.”
But the “crazy” part comes next. The jurors were left with the task of having to disprove that Spooner was suffering from “mental illness” at the time of the shooting. Well, Spooner’s defense team had no luck with the insanity plea! Thank goodness this jury was in their right mind.
The video of Spooner shooting the boy outside his home can be seen below. Warning! This content is disturbing.
