Broward County police department put together a video entitled “Raise Your Voice, Not Your Hands”, in an effort to devise a “riot plan” to prevent excessive violence once the verdict is delivered on the George Zimmerman trial.

As the George Zimmerman trial comes to a close, the authorities are already suspecting there will be trouble …and lots of it.

The expert predictions given thus far believe second degree murder will be hard to prove with the evidence and testimony that has been given by forensic specialists.  And as we all know, this high profile case has the country on edge and most awaiting the verdict.  But the fear is that with such a pressure cooker percolating there may be riots that exceed those sparked by the Rodney King case where all officers connected with the beating of the century were acquitted.

But, Broward Country police believe they have the solution to the riotous atmosphere that is brewing around the case with the help of a riot plan they have devised with a PSA video, according to Black Blue Dog.com.  The police enlisted teenagers to deliver the message of non-violence to other young people and for them to TRUST THE POLICE because they “have their back.”

“Raise your voice!” says the girl in the video,  “and not your hands!” continues the boy. “We need to stand together as one, no cuffs, no guns,” says the girl. “Let’s give violence a rest, because we can easily end up arrested,” says the boy. “I know your patience will be tested,” says the girl, and then both of the teens end with, “but law enforcement has your back!”

Also, police from Sanford–where the tragedy occurred–have enlisted the help of black ministers to lower the chance of violence as a part of their riot plan.

  1. Did any of these precautions have to be implemented when OJ was about to be found not guilty? Why are negroes expected to act like animals when things don’t go like they would like them to? Oh. I forgot about the Rodney King riot thing. My bad.
