The banks are charging us more and more every day in fees just to hold our money for us.  But as the fees get steeper the services get more shoddy… and downright disastrous.

Georgia native, Ann Wiley, had problems paying a bill online and thought, “Hey, I’d better check my account.”  Well, she discovered that there was more of a deficit in her account than she thought. Courtesy of Sun Trust bank, she was $100 million in debt.  But then, it didn’t stop there.  The debt doubled, then tripled over night with hundreds of millions deducted from her checking and savings.  Wiley is not even a close friend of Oprah, so the debt was more money than she had ever seen attached to her name.

So you would think this would be an easy fix, right?  Nope.  Sun Trust only put the issue under investigation and is still struggling to rectify their error as though the woman is really responsible in some way for the debt.  The error possibly began with the tax owed on a car she bought in 2004, in the amount of $273, that she was required to pay off.  But, Sun Trust told her that the Georgia Department of Revenue had a hand in it and they can’t comment on an individual taxpayer.

“Friends are keeping me afloat. I can’t get anything from my account, obviously, I can’t pay any bills or buy food or put gas in my car.”

Check out her misery below. Unbelievable!  Sun Trust owes her an apology AND an increase to her accounts for all of the trouble they’ve caused.
