There are a lot of bold criminals out there that don’t care if children will be hurt in their caper. They fire their guns into traffic, into homes, it doesn’t matter.
But one 10-year-old in Canarsie, a south Brooklyn residential neighborhood that ends at the Jamaica Bay, stopped robbers that entered their home around 5:30pm, according to The Blaze. The robbers came in dressed as delivery men and brandishing guns and told the boy’s teenage sisters to stay where they were as they searched the home.
But the 10-year-old ran upstairs where his mother was and the robbers came up after him. But when the robber tried to get in the room holding a gun, the boy and possibly his mother, slammed the door on his arm causing him to drop the gun. The boy picked up the gun and fired a warning shot that hit the wall and one of the robbers fired back.
They left the home without anyone being injured and are still at large.
“They have a store, so maybe the person who robbed them knew there was a lot of cash in there,” Kimberly Lindo speculated for the New York Post. “Look, they have two brand-new BMWs in the driveway…I don’t know, that’s kind of unusual for this neighborhood.”
Bravo to the courageous young man for fighting back! Check out the CNN report below.
