Crimes are normally reported to 911, so that help can be sent to the crime scene as soon as possible. But the culprit committing the crime usually is ready to go to jail and is remorseful if they feel compelled to make the call…but not this time.
A couple young men, Scott Simon, 24, and Nicholas Walker, 33, got into a fight in a Broward County, Florida Waffle House. After the two were separated and left the scene, Simon followed Walker home and he was shot to death on I-95, according to the Miami Herald. Well, the police have an open and shut case on Simon’s murder plot because of a butt dial he made to 911 where his conversation with friends detailing how he was going to follow Walker home and kill him.
Minutes later Walker was killed as Simon rode up to his car and someone in his vehicle shot Walker. The police closed I-95 for several hours after finding Walker’s car rammed into a guard rail with the car in flames. But, the fire was not the cause of Walker’s demise, he had already been shot and killed.
Authorities have charged Simon of Pompano Beach, Florida, with the first-degree murder of Walker and are still searching for two other of Simon’s friends. They are sure that Simon didn’t pull the trigger and are searching for the trigger man and another of his friends, but Simon is charged for plotting the murder.
Wow! And here we thought that it was only cheating spouses and significant others that had to worry about the notorious butt dial. Never thought a murder would be solved because of it. Thanks to Simon’s stupidity, and a faulty cell phone, he is now behind bars. Karma!
