In March, we reported that abortion doctor Kermit B. Gosnell, nicknamed “Dr. Death”, was finally headed to trial for the murders of three infants by severing their spinal cords with scissors after they were born. Now it’s time to pay the piper!
In addition to the diabolical abortion practices he used, Nepalese refugee Karnamaya Mongar who had come to Gosnell for an abortion lost her life due to an overdose of drugs administered during her abortion by his staff. In addition to these crimes, authorities said he may have been selling drugs in a “pill mill” to drug dealers from his home.
But all of the crimes Gosnell, 72, committed have been tried and have resulted in three life sentences. He will spend what’s left of his life in prison. He also received 2 1/2 to 5 years in prison for Mongar’s death in 2010. According to the Washington Times:
“I will not mince words: Kermit Gosnell is a monster,” Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said Wednesday. “Any doctor who cuts into the necks, severing the spinal cords of living, breathing babies who would survive with proper medical attention, is a murderer and a monster.”
In exchange for not receiving the death penalty, Gosnell agreed not to appeal the verdicts which also punish Gosnell for 229 violations of Pennsylvania abortion regulations.
