There is some truth to the saying attributed to the circus man, P.T. Barnum, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” Someone proves it to you every single day.
Today’s “sucker” is Henry Gribbohm of Derby, New Hampshire. He went to the carnival to have some fun with the kiddies and ended up losing his life savings on a game that promised an X-Box if he could throw the ball in the bucket without the ball popping back out, according to CBS Boston. What never seemed to occur to the man was that he could actually have gone to the store and bought his own X-Box for the $300 he spent trying to win it.
Well, Gribbohm lost his $300 and went home to get ANOTHER $2300 to spend on taking his chances with the very same game. The reporter did not discern whether the man had some sort of learning disability, so we’re not sure what was going on here.
But the man’s persistence didn’t stop with playing the game. He went back to the carnival the next day and managed to get the game operator to give him $600 of his money back and a stuffed banana with dreadlocks. The stuffed banana with dreadlocks is a whole other story that no one touched with a ten foot pole other than one of the news anchor saying, “How many people have that?!”
