Donald Trump is always trying to get attention, but this time he’s actually trying to shrink from the limelight. But, noooooooo, Cletis, we’re going to drag you right on up here on the stage that you normally adore. Don’t back down now!
On Sunday, Trump continued to spread his venom against the five innocent men that came to be known as the Central Park 5, after becoming New York City’s scapegoat for the horrifying rape of a woman jogging through Central Park, April 19, 1989. All five of the young men’s confessions were coerced and later recanted, but Trump was sure they were guilty and took out pricey ads in the New York Times, the Daily News, the Post and Newsday in support of the death penalty, according to Wonkette.
It’s been 24 years since the crime occurred and it wasn’t until 2002, that they were released from prison with the confession of another inmate whose DNA and confession to the crime set them free. But, the Ken Burns’ documentary titled the Central Park 5, aired Tuesday, April 15, and Donald Trump, still hot about the case, took to Twitter to continue his condemnation of the men and his equal support of the death penalty for the Boston bombing suspect. One member of Twitter, CoachClintSwan, told Trump he needs to keep his comments to himself:
Of course these five men had no business being in Central Park. Maybe he feels that the Park is reserved for him and his elite club of …narrow-minded, poison spewing cronies. But, after he replied to CoachClintSwan, he had a change of heart and deleted the post. WHAT?!! DONALD TRUMP IS RECANTING OR HIDING FROM HIS OWN REMARKS?! Unheard of!
But Twitter is just like your voice, once you put it out there, you can’t take it back. He tried to get rid of his words, but of course it was already captured by the masses. In case you didn’t know, Trump, this is why you’re constantly being labelled a racist. Your judgmental finger has been pointed in the direction of black folks waaaayyyyy too many times.
