Picture this. You’re out with your friends, laughing and having a great time when it’s time to receive the bill. But wait a minute! When you read the bill, there’s a little something more to offend you than the amount owed on the bill.
According to ABC affiliate News 10, Christine Duran, Christina Huerta and Isabel Robles visited Chilly D’s Sports Lounge, part of the Cameo Club Casino, in Stockton, Calif., and was shocked and dismayed when they received their bill with “fat girls” written across the top of it.
The restaurant is a family owned business that had the sincerest of apologies for the women when they were alerted to what happened, but the manager only wanted to take a percentage off of their bill rather than clear the bill altogether. The restaurant posted this statement on their Facebook page:
“[...] I completely understand why they were hurt by what was written on their receipt and that type of treatment isn’t tolerated. Also there will be no tolerance in the future, guaranteed. Everyone is welcome in our establishment, my family built this business so that the community of Stockton would have a safe and fun place to hang out and come together. My hope is to heal our newly tarnished reputation so that everyone feels safe and welcome again. And if these ladies would like to meet with my family and I, so that we can personally apologize, we would really like to do that, because we do not want anyone to have an experience like this.”
Well the ladies are looking to be compensated for their pain and suffering. Check out another incident that occurred in Maryland in March, where a woman’s receipt read in the address area:
