Fox News has been charged with being a right wing channel, but they don’t listen to us because a lot of us that believe this are a part of the 47 percent. But, one reputable person took the time to address their questionable journalistic tactics.
The Fox News channel invited Pulitzer Prize winning author and journalist, Thomas Ricks, to talk about his new book “The Generals”. Ricks has covered the military for decades and it appears that Fox may have thought he shared the same right wing views as the channel when they asked him to weigh in on the Benghazi controversy.
Of course, they were at the ready when the republicans came after President Obama’s administration for initially attributing the attack–that killed an ambassador and three more Americans–to an anti-Muslim video instead of the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.
Ricks explained in his interview that this controversy was hyped by networks like Fox News. But that was only the beginning. Co-anchor Jon Scott tried to recoup from the comment targeted at Fox by saying, “When you have four people dead for the first time in more than 30 years, how do you call that hype?”
To which Ricks shot back:
“I think the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox is operating as the wing of the Republican Party.”
Check out the exchange! BRAVO, THOMAS RICKS! BRAVO!
